A space of giving, roots, and purpose for IDF soldiers and security forces

The Carmey Omri nonprofit runs a unique project in Moshav Tzafria in memory of Maj. Omri Hai Ben Moshe, of blessed memory. The place was founded as a space of giving, dedicated entirely to IDF soldiers and security forces, out of a deep belief in the values of unity, love of the people, and settling the land.

At the heart of the project is the connection between the deep roots of working the land and a spiritual mission of building resilience and spirit, optimism, and belief in growth even through hardship — a direct continuation of Omri's legacy.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 His Life and His Fall

Omri, the eldest son of Revital Susie and Oren Aharon, was born on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, 29 Elul 5759 (תשנ״ט), 9.9.99. He fell in battle in Rafah on Thursday, 25 Elul 5785 (תשפ״ה), 18.9.2025, at the age of 26.

Omri — brother to Ilon, Amit, and Evyatar; a devoted, loving husband to Hadas; and father to CARMI and Roi Yitzchak.

⚔️ Scholar and Warrior — The Commander and the Man

Omri connected spiritual depth, love of the land, personal responsibility, and military excellence. He served as a company commander in the paratroopers, and in his final role as company commander at IDF Officers' Training School (Bahad 1).

On October 7th he fought bravely in Be'eri with "Koach Ben Mosh," and later led his soldiers in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, always acting "quietly and with strength," out of a deep belief in the eternity of Israel and the mission entrusted to him.

🌿 The Spirit Behind the Project

Omri was a commander who demanded excellence, attention to the smallest details, responsibility, and full readiness for battle — while at the same time caring for his soldiers in every detail: from food, sleep, and service conditions, through company cohesion, to deep conversations about life, values, worldview, and personal responsibility.

The "Carmey Omri" project seeks to continue that same broad, deep, and human care for soldiers and security forces.

The Meaning of the Name

The project's name combines the names of Omri's children and expresses the essence of his life, faith, and path: a deep connection to roots alongside a spiritual mission of seeing the good and having faith

CARMI · His firstborn daughter

The name Omri and Hadas chose for their firstborn daughter, as an expression of faith, rootedness, and hope. It expresses his vision of settling the land, planting vineyards and fields in it, and being an active partner in building it.

Out of this belief he sought to act with a sense of mission — to make the wilderness bloom, to build, and to add life to the land.

Omri · from the root meaning "speaker of life"

Hidden within this name are the letters of his son's name, Roi — which expresses the vision of the good that lit his path.

Omri's vision was deep — a vision that looks far into the distance, a vision of great and certain faith in the good. He cultivated a positive, optimistic outlook on reality, lived with an infectious joy of life, and believed that even from the harshest crises, redemption grows.

Early Settlement

David Davidovich, of blessed memory — Holocaust Survivor and Founder

Omri's great-grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, immigrated to Israel and laid the foundations of the settlement at Moshav Tzafria. He served as head of the regional council for 31 years — a man of public service and nation-building with his whole soul.

The Next Generation

Continuing the Path — Deepening Roots

The generations between Grandfather David and Omri continued to live on the same land, preserving the connection to their roots and the belief that the land is a covenant between the people and its soil.

1999–2025

Omri — The First Great-Grandson

Omri, Grandfather David's first great-grandson, continued the work of planting and building on the same land — from the field to the heavens, from the vineyard to the eternity of Israel.

Today and Forever

Carmey Omri — Closing the Circle

"Carmey Omri" is a moving closing of the circle — from the roots planted by Grandfather David after his immigration to Israel, to the work that continues today in Omri's spirit on that same land in Moshav Tzafria.
